Seraphim

Contextualizing a cappella contemporary repertoire within the works of previous centuries

Seraphim is a Montreal-based a capella chamber choir. Our diverse membership includes representatives from many professions who share the common traits of musical training, choral experience, and a passion for music-making. The musicians in Seraphim enjoy the thrill of singing music in four to eight parts, often with only one or two voices on a part. This intimate setting requires the ensemble to work together in highly focused, energetic and dynamic weekly rehearsals. Seraphim enjoys finding opportunities to work with other musicians, choirs, and conductors. The choir has collaborated with such conductors as Michael Zaugg (Canada/Switzerland), Erik Westberg (Sweden), and Maria Guinand (Venezuela). Seraphim has performed with choirs from the U.S. and around Montreal, including the St. Lawrence Choir, Ste-Anne Singers, and the Siamsa Singers.
